Therapists for college students near 02467
Thank you for considering working with me. I do both therapy and/or medication management. My approach is a team approach where I work collaboratively with you. Even if you have a therapist and need someone for just medication management, I like to get to know you as a whole. I try to avoid making students feel labeled and pressured to start a medication. I strive to make a welcoming environment for all students with diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ students. My private practice is mainly undergraduate and graduate students along with young adults recently in the workforce.
I began my private practice 12 years ago after working for many years in medical social work, college counseling and fertility support. The practice has evolved from primarily infertility, pregnancy and post- partum support to working with teens, young adults and women going through life transitions, Anxiety and Depression. I offer an interactive experience that blends elements of CBT, DBT, positive psychology, coaching and referrals and resources to other supportive practitioners in the areas of Acupuncture, Reiki, Nutrition and Functional Medicine.
You are welcome to call me directly for a free 15 min. consultation. From there, you'll learn more about my working style and can ask any questions you may have. My office is conveniently located in Harvard Square near the Harvard T stop and the 77 Bus route. I also provide online therapy, if needed.
I am the mythical therapist who understands gender, trauma, and neurodivergence at the same time. They told you it was impossible, but they were wrong! I’m right here! Instead of teaching you buzzwords and therapyspeak, I can help you build the relational skills to communicate what you feel, want, and need in your own words. I can guide you in exploring identity and building a resilient sense of self. My approach is a fairly eclectic mix of modalities, but always relational and attachment-based. I practice from a neurodiversity lens and am well-versed in understanding and meeting the needs of clients living with autism, ADHD, and other flavors of neurodivergence. I am passionate about helping you better understand your nervous system, to contextualize why you do what you do and figure out what you need. I also know that each person I work with has been shaped not only by their individual history, but by the culture(s) and systems of power that surround them. I see naming and exploring those forces as a liberatory and necessary part of therapy. When I’m not seeing clients, I may be found spending time with friends, hiking or camping, making pottery, hanging out with my dog, reading, playing video games, or crocheting. In terms of social location, I am a white queer transmasculine/genderqueer millennial and have lived experience with neurodivergence.
I am a certified Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) practitioner. EFT combined with traditional talk therapy is powerfully effective for releasing any distressing emotions, it is easy and non invasive, I lead you through a tapping sequence on the body's meridian points and we can pull up whatever is bothering you and turn it off! I love this technique!

Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected from their bodies, their relationships, or a clear sense of who they are... old wounds can show up through self-doubt, overthinking, numbness, or a feeling of not quite belonging. My clients are often introspective, sensitive, or creative souls that come to me during times of transition, burnout, relationship challenges, recovery from addiction, or when seeking a deeper connection to themselves and their purpose. Our therapy process will invite you to slow down, listen inwardly, and repair the hurt that restricts your vitality and authentic self-expression. I specialize in integrative therapy that blends relational talk therapy with body awareness, breath, inner child work, and earth-based practices. I draw from IFS, somatic therapies, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, while also incorporating ACT and CBT to support aligned action. My approach is non-pathologizing and collaborative. Our work will effectively move you towards: greater clarity and confidence in your choices; Emotional resilience and self-compassion; A more authentic connection to yourself and others; A sense of wholeness, direction, and purpose. If it feels like we could be a fit, I would love to hear from you. Reach out to schedule an initial session.

I welcome feedback on what's working and what isn't to ensure you're getting exactly what you need from therapy. I am a psychiatrist in private practice for over 20 years, treating patients by integrating psychotherapy, psychoanalysis and, when indicated psychopharmacology. As a physician, I am able to evaluate patients with symptoms which may be medical or psychiatric in origin, understanding the mind-body connection. I see a broad range of patients, some suffering from major mental illness to those healthy individuals seeking to learn more about themselves. A major focus of my private practice is working with college and graduate students. I see students as young as seniors in high school and consult to parents of college age students around the country. I am an Affiliated Psychiatrist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Instructor, Harvard Medical School from 1994-2014. I am a Diplomat, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology re-certified in 2014. I was a staff psychiatrist at Sarah Lawrence College, and more recently, Senior Psychiatric Consultant at Brandeis University from 1997-2012. I believe that every patient is unique, reflecting their development, family history, neuropsychology, traumas, and life experiences. My role is to help the patient develop an integrated personal narrative, exploring unconscious conflicts, understanding the experience of self in relation to others, and to take responsibility, not just for their difficulties, but their strengths as well.
Do you sometimes feel unsure of who you are? Are you going nonstop because being still feels impossible? Do you find that you're often trying to make yourself fit others' expectations, leaving you feeling uncomfortable in your own skin? Maybe you've lost a sense of who you are, always questioning everything you do and not wanting to be too much. You might freeze up, experiencing headaches and tension. You could be trying to control things like food intake or find yourself late-night bingeing. The ways you used to cope don't serve you anymore, leading to shame spirals and constant self-blame. It's hard to prioritize yourself when your mind is always racing. But you want more from life. You want to understand yourself, live in the present, and create a life that aligns with your values. You crave connection with others, the freedom to move comfortably, and the ability to trust your emotions. Your goal is to feel safe and free in your body, build healthy relationships, and find liberation. Therapy can help you find peace and deeper connections, especially when dealing with trauma and PTSD. Reaching out is a courageous act. In our sessions, we’ll focus on curiosity, presence, connection, and ease. I will provide a safe, non-judgmental space where your experiences are valued. Building trust is key. As a neurodivergent person in a larger body, I offer a unique perspective and empathy. My approach is rooted in cultural humility, offering HAES-aligned, fat-positive, neurodiversity-affirming, and gender and sexuality affirming care. We’ll mix processing and skill-building to help you manage emotions and reconnect with your body. Therapy can help you break trauma cycles and find fulfillment. Let’s take this step together, toward healing, connection, and peace.
My approach to therapy is active, flexible, goal-oriented, and collaborative. Ultimately, my role is to help you gain the skills, insights, and self-compassion to be your own therapist. I meet clients where they are, help them to clarify their goals, identify what stands in their way, and work through (or with) these obstacles through the use of CBT, ACT and short-term psychodynamic approaches. I pay special attention to cultural and contextual factors that may be relevant to your concerns and treatment. In my work in university, refugee and veterans’ clinic settings, I've had the opportunity to engage with diverse populations and a wide array of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions and relational concerns. If you think we may be a good match, please get in touch to schedule a 15-minute consultation.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism and OCD. Supporting young people and their families has always been at the heart of my work. I am committed to providing compassionate, collaborative, and culturally responsive mental health care. Having grown up and trained in Boston, I am proud to serve the community that is my home. Creating a space where you feel heard, safe, and supported is critical to my practice. Whether we are navigating a new diagnosis, exploring medication options or working to better understand your thoughts and behavioral patterns, we will work together to find an approach that works for you. Education is the backbone of my practice so you feel informed and empowered to make the best decision for you or your child. My goal is to provide you with tools to build insight and coping skills to better support yourself in your mental health journey.
I work best with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck and are looking for a supportive space to sort things out. Many of the clients I work with are managing anxiety, life transitions, grief, relationship stress, or the pressure of balancing work, family, and personal expectations. Clients often come to me when they want to better understand their emotions, develop healthier coping skills, and feel more confident navigating day-to-day challenges. My style is supportive and collaborative, and I work at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable. Therapy with me is a space to talk openly, feel understood, and work toward meaningful change.

Radical acceptance and authentic human connection. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Trying to keep your head above water? Do you need a space where you can be seen, heard, and valued? I can help. I provide warm, engaging therapy without judgment, shame, or stigma. I work with folx ages 16+ who are looking for new ways to move through life. I tend to work with people who are going through a transition. Perhaps you are going off to college, trying to understand an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, navigating complicated relationships, or exploring your identity. (I provide gender-affirming treatment letters.) WARNING: I'm not the kind of therapist who nods & asks: "How does that make you feel?" I work in an interpersonal, solution-focused, collaborative language format. Meaning? I'm super interactive, and we're gonna work together to manage your drama & trauma. I use radical acceptance and authentic human connection to help you on your path toward healing, growing, and thriving. I've been a therapist for over a decade. I use strength-based, affirmative, and neuroscientific theories to guide us, but healing doesn't happen via theory. It lies within you- your hopes, hardships, successes, and infinite wisdom. My mission is to help you feel deeply understood and connected as you gain awareness of how your thoughts, emotions, and body are interconnected. Take a break from your hectic day and find a relaxing space where you can virtually come to learn to maximize your strengths, minimize your fears, and increase your confidence. As an expressive therapist, I’ve been trained to find additional approaches towards healing, which may include the arts. My style is relational, collaborative, and informed. Recovery and healing are possible. We all have struggles we've faced in this life. You are the expert of your life and your experience. Racism, homophobia, and sexism are hardcore capital-T Traumas. Even the strongest among us need support in helping our inner critic shut up and get out of our way. You are amazing, and I want to help you see that (especially if you just got through this whole thing and are still reading).
