Therapists for college students near Houston, TX
I am a queer trans non-binary therapist and expressive arts therapist. My focus is providing individual therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults, women, and non-monogamous and polyamorous people. I specialize in working with trans and non-binary folks and people navigating relationships, building confidence, or wanting to engage the arts as part of therapy. I strive to create an environment where you can be yourself, feel comfortable exploring your experience and taking risks, and take steps towards what’s important to you. I am social justice oriented, neurodiversity-affirming, and work from a trauma-informed perspective. I am able to see clients in both Washington and Texas, and practice under the supervision of Candice Holloway, LPC-S and Breona Mendoza, LMHC. As expressive arts therapist, I often bring play and creative expression into therapy. This could include anything from creating a D&D character who represents part of your experience, to making a music playlist, to integrating visual art, movement, music, writing, or role-playing into our work. As a therapist, I am warm, engaged, and curious. You deserve a therapist that gets you – it’s important to me to take time to get to know you. I cheer you on and see myself as a facilitator and collaborator as you work towards your goals. As a human, I love camping, attending queer and sex-positive events, finding dogs, and trying new gluten free recipes.

Healing Lane Therapy is a specialized private practice with experienced clinicians socializing in treating borderline personality disorder (BPD), trauma, challenges with phase of life and identify exploration, substance use disorders, depression, and anxiety. Our clinicians use a relational approach to develop a meaningful and secure attachment to the people they are so fortunate to work with in their therapy work. We also utilize dialectical behavior therapy, attachment based therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

I am a white, queer, fat, disabled, AuDHD, genderfluid therapist based in Houston, Texas. I specialize in working with clients exploring their gender, sexual, or romantic identity, polyamory/relationship anarchy, late-diagnosed Autism or ADHD, adults seeking support around chronic pain and illness, and processing trauma. I am passionate about LGBTQ+ rights (and human rights in general), intersectional feminism, anti-racism, and dismantling systems of oppression. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, built on mutual respect and authenticity. My therapeutic approach will vary from person to person depending on individual need and unique lived experience. I often use a blend of somatic work and mindfulness paired with consent-based, feminist, narrative, trauma-informed, neurodiverse-informed, emotionally focused therapies. I primarily work with adults in individual and group therapy.

All our therapists are queer, intersectional feminists, and use liberation-based (anti-oppression) therapy approaches. Whether you’re wanting to explore your queer identity, thinking about coming out, struggling with depression or anxiety, or feeling the impact of all the anti-LGBTQ+ bullsh*t legislation, we're here for you. In addition to gender and sexuality, our specialties include anxiety/panic, climate distress, dating, depression, existential crises, first-gen issues, intergenerational trauma, neurodivergence, racial/cultural identity, school stress, self-worth, self-harm and sexual trauma.
Finding Balance and Support in College College can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. Between managing classes, relationships, future plans, and daily responsibilities, it’s easy to feel stressed, anxious, or emotionally drained. Maybe you’re struggling with focus, motivation, or perfectionism. Maybe you’re dealing with self-doubt, past experiences, or mental health challenges that make it hard to keep up. At Cura Meadows, I specialize in helping college students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next steps. Many of my clients are thoughtful, ambitious individuals who want to do well but feel weighed down by stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD, or burnout. Some are navigating family expectations or healing from past trauma, while others just need support in managing the pressures of college life. I offer therapy and medication management in a space where you can process what you’re going through and find real solutions. Whether it’s learning new coping strategies, addressing underlying patterns, or exploring whether medication could help with focus, mood, or anxiety, our work is personalized to fit your needs. You don’t have to figure this all out on your own. If you’re looking for support that meets you where you are, I’d love to help.
Are you navigating an ‘it’s complicated’ relationship? Do you feel crazy, like you can’t trust yourself? Have you found out your partner has betrayed you? Are you ready to process through childhood trauma to end generational curses? It is my passion and honor to focus on women’s issues, relationship issues, and trauma. I believe in tracing symptoms to their roots. My approach to counseling is about creating a space of trust and rapport to collect dots, to connect dots, to ultimately, correct the dots. I utilize EMDR, somatic experiencing, and behavior therapy to respond to how past unresolved experiences are coming up and creating obstacles in present life. If you’re ready to do the work, you have access to freedom from things that are no longer serving you and an opportunity to move toward a brighter and more secure future.
I work with individuals and couples. Especially those who are POC, apart of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as people in nontraditional relationship or family structures. These folks are often those who are navigating identity exploration, societal pressures, relationship dynamics, & the constant overwhelm of modern life. I believe in creating the kind of place where people can be real, messy, and still be held with care. My approach is affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in curiosity. I meet clients where they are, helping them feel seen, build self-trust, and foster more honest and connected relationships. Using body-based, community, & communication focused techniques, I help you reconnect with your authentic self. Rooted in social justice, our work blends open dialogue, hands-on exploration, and storytelling. Whether you're unpacking internalized narratives or navigating life transitions, I offer space to heal, grow, and connect with compassion & intention. Taking this step takes real courage, and I commend you for starting this journey of self-discovery. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can truly explore and grow. Let’s be honest—being a college student or young adult can feel like a lot. You’re expected to make big life decisions, manage responsibilities, and somehow have a plan for your future… all at the same time. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what you’re doing. You might be comparing yourself to others, questioning your path, or just trying to keep up day-to-day. The truth is, most people are figuring it out as they go—even if it doesn’t look like it. I work with young adults to create a space where you can be real. You don’t have to have everything together or know all the answers. Whether you’re dealing with stress, life transitions, or just feeling off, this is a place where you can talk things through without judgment. Together, we can make sense of what you’re going through, find ways to cope, and help you feel a little more grounded and confident moving forward. You don’t have to do this alone.
You're a woman who grew up without the emotional nurturing you needed by having a distant parent, inconsistent caregiving, or years spent being the strong one. You desired love, but received mental and emotional pain from people you trusted. Now, these early wounds are showing up as anxiety, self-doubt, depression, overthinking, trauma-responses, relationship struggles, low self-esteem, or feeling disconnected and lost. You want peace, clarity, wholeness, and the ability to break generational patterns so you can show up fully, with purpose, and thrive in life as a woman, a partner, a parent, and/or a professional. I help women heal from the impact of childhood emotional wounds using a trauma-informed, faith-integrated approach. I work towards guiding women to rebuild self-trust, regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and create an inner safety they've always deserved. I provide a therapeutic and transformational frame through individual, couples, and group work. You don't have to keep carrying these wounds alone. Healing is possible. It is time to experience a safe space where your story is honored without judgment. If you're ready for supportive work that helps you to feel whole again, I'd be honored to walk with you on this journey. Let's take the next step together.
At Wilson Counseling, we believe healing begins with connection. Our team provides a compassionate space where individuals, couples, and families can feel heard, understood, and supported. We work collaboratively with clients to build resilience, explore personal growth, and move toward meaningful change.
Many people start thinking about therapy because, emotionally, they don’t feel good. Maybe your emotions end up taking you for a ride and you feel helpless to stop it. Emotions come and go, but they can sometimes feel endless, especially if they are intense. Or maybe you are struggling to get in touch with your emotions and you find it difficult to connect. Either way, what ends up making it worse is the power struggle we get into with our own emotions. We want to push away the ones that feel bad and force the ones that feel good, but that never works for long. Wouldn’t it be easier to avoid the power struggle completely?

Do you feel overwhelmed, burnout, mentally or physically exhausted? Are you struggling with anxiety and can’t seem to manage mood swings? Unable to achieve your goals due to lack of attention span and decreased motivation? There may be many contributing factors complicating your situation such as unresolved conflicts from childhood, substance abuse and interpersonal relationships. It may also be quite scary to seek medications and treatment for things you can feel but not see. But let me tell you- we are not our brains! Rather we are affected by the way how our brain functions and we all depend on the healthy flow of neurotransmitters to function and to thrive. Some brains produce these naturally, while others require some assistance and that’s nobody’s fault- same way that it is not an individuals fault for producing less insulin or thyroid hormone. So let’s aim to resolve these mental health issues together with holistic and integrative methods. As a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, graduate of Vanderbilt University and with over a decade of experience, I am well versed in evaluating, diagnosing and treating mental health disorders for children, adolescents and adults. I am truly committed to provide exceptional and high-quality psychiatric care. Utilizing extensive expertise and evidence-based practices to enhance mental health across the lifespan and eliminate disparities. Passionate about making a positive impact on individuals’ well-being.
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or academic stress, feeling lonely or homesick, navigating new relationships, choosing a career path, or simply having difficulty adjusting to college life and becoming more independent? This is where counseling can help with a counselor who’s been there. My first experience with professional counseling occurred when I walked into my school’s counseling center after an unexpected personal loss during my freshman year that greatly impacted the rest of my time in college. I had no idea that years later I would become a professional counselor myself seeing college students in my office. College can be simultaneously one of the most exciting and stressful times of a young adult’s life with little to no preparation beforehand. Moving to a different city or state (already one of the most stressful experiences we can have), trying to make new friends, and pick a major can all be an incredibly overwhelming transition to make. To change our present and future, we must understand our past and can do so by resolving emotionally wounded parts of ourselves that influence our thoughts and behaviors and hinder our health and relationships. I approach therapy holistically and use a combination of Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the State of Texas. I believe counseling is a place where you can be authentic and share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with validation and compassion. By putting in time, effort, and consistency we can work together to help you reach your goals. I also offer faith-based counseling and will strive to understand and respect your particular religious beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and personal values. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of every client's unique journey of healing, change, and growth and invite you to reach out if you would like to begin that process with me today.
