Hi, I'm Kris. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I have experience working with a wide range of populations. I’m especially passionate about supporting women, members and parents of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals navigating grief, loss, depression, anxiety, or simply the everyday challenges that life can bring. If anxiety feels like it’s running your life or your relationship feels stuck in painful patterns, you’re not alone. Many of the individuals and couples I work with feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. I’m Anna Clemente, and I offer a warm, supportive space where we can slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and build healthier ways of coping and communicating. Many of my clients are thoughtful people who appear to be managing well on the outside but internally feel anxious, stuck, or disconnected. I specialize in anxiety and couples work, using a systemic and relational approach to help clients understand patterns that keep them feeling stuck. With couples, I focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and strengthening emotional connection using the Gottman Method and EFT, while integrating CBT and IFS when helpful. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it’s important to find someone who feels like the right fit. If you’re curious about working together, I’d be happy to connect for a brief consultation to answer any questions and see if it feels like a good match. You’re welcome to reach out by inquiry or text whenever you feel ready.
I am passionate about working with clients and learning how to best navigate your struggles as a team. If you are a professional struggling with anxiety, navigating college or entering the working world, starting or ending a new relationship, struggling with emotional regulation regarding depression, or having a hard time with disordered eating and body image, it is my goal to help you reaffirm your strengths and identify new skills to reach your goals. I aim to create a non-judgmental and supportive environment where we can reflect on your past experiences, your successes, and discuss growth. I offer a collaborative approach and can support you using various therapy tools, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical- Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy. I am also trained in Exposure and Response Prevention, which can help with OCD. We all have the strengths to navigate the messy moments in life, but adjusting can be hard at times. My hope in creating a non-judgmental environment is to provide a safe place for you to work through your thoughts and emotions in an unfiltered way. The first step is hard and I hope to be a part of your growth in any way I can!
If you need mental health support, you shouldn’t have to worry about your therapist judging you or making you feel uncomfortable. You are the expert in who you are, and I do my best to learn from my clients and provide a safe space to address whatever you’re going through. I frequently use cognitive behavioral, insight oriented, and emotions focused interventions within session. I’m also trained and certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is frequently used to address trauma but is also helpful in reducing the distress experienced around any negative thought and replacing it with a healthier/adaptive thought. I appreciate that I can’t be a good fit for everyone, so I welcome consultation calls to explore if my approach to counseling would be supportive to what you’re looking for within therapy.

I have over 20 years of experience specializing in treating women who have problems with their moods and difficulty managing emotions. Formally trained in Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gestalt Therapy, I blend these approaches with warmth, compassion and a genuine desire to understand the experience of my clients, helping them feel empowered to overcome personal obstacles and move forward to a happier, healthier life. I encourage being present in the moment without judgment of ourselves, others, or our circumstances. I approach my work with enthusiasm and often a necessary bit of humor. Do you feel stuck? Perhaps you recognize that something in your life isn't working and you've tried to fix things or make changes, but it didn't work and you find yourself feeling exhausted, defeated, confused, helpless, hopeless, or overwhelmed. Or maybe you have no idea where to start. You've landed in the right place because getting unstuck is my specialty. Reaching out for help is a courageous choice. I am honored to provide a safe space for clients to pause, reflect, process, learn, and grow. My goal is to empower clients to live fully and embrace a lifestyle that sustains a sense of well-being. I am licensed in NY, PA, IL, and NH, which allows me to support students year-round who may live in one state and go to school in another, or who plan to move to another state following graduation. Transitions are often a time of increased stress so finding a therapist who can be present *virtually* throughout is important. In addition to our work together in session, I make use of an app that is free to my clients to provide resources between sessions and collect data to create a personalized approach to treatment.
