I work with adults of all ages, ranging from students and young professionals to aging adults. I have experience in brief treatment, college mental health, and outpatient therapy. Throughout my life I have always strived to promote mental health whether listening to a friend, advocating for clients and families, supporting a caregiver, or volunteering for local organizations. Mental health truly affects people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. I aim to develop a safe and inclusive environment for all. I will create a personalized treatment plan that meets your specific needs, utilizing a collaborative, eclectic, person-centered, solution-focused, and strength-based approach. Therapy provides a safe environment to work on the issues and situations that might be hindering your ability to function as you want to. Every client is different, and my goal is to help you feel more able to identify your specific challenges and develop the skills and strategies to manage them. I rely on a strengths perspective and draw predominately from CBT, ACT, and psychodynamic modalities. I help clients with anxiety, depression, problems related to sexual and gender identity, relationship conflicts, illness, grief, and stage of life issues. I am strongly aligned with the LGBTQIA+ community and enjoy working with individuals and couples from all walks of life.
As a licensed social worker, I specialize in helping individuals, both adolescents and adults, navigate the challenges of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders. I use evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to empower my clients to manage their symptoms, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and to feel more comfortable with the inevitable discomfort and uncertainty that humans face daily. I offer a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can openly explore their struggles. I believe in a holistic approach that addresses not just symptoms, but the whole person. I also value open communication, so I encourage feedback throughout our work together to ensure we are on the right path. I am passionate about this work because I truly believe that with the right tools and support, everyone has the ability to live a value-based life. I love seeing my clients develop a better understanding of their strengths and learn to live with uncertainty. It is amazing to me how much bigger the world can seem when we are not constrained by our fears.

I work primarily with young adults and adults navigating substance use concerns and related mental health challenges. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a strong emphasis on skills-based interventions, relapse prevention, and collaborative treatment planning. I utilize a trauma-informed and strengths-based framework to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and increase emotional regulation. I have experience supporting individuals in early recovery, those working toward sustained sobriety, and clients managing co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns. I provide individual therapy and psychoeducation, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space that promotes accountability, insight, and long-term change. I work with clients from all religious and spiritual backgrounds and respect each client’s beliefs, integrating them into treatment when clinically appropriate.
Thank you so much for taking a look at my profile. I have been in private practice since 2011 and prior to that primarily worked in university counseling centers with both college age clients as well as older adults. While I use cognitive behavioral treatment strategies to help clients manage what brings them into treatment, I also find that it can be helpful to explore where certain thoughts or feelings come from to create a deeper understanding and hopefully ultimately minimize unwanted feelings or symptoms. I provide a free 5-10 minute initial consultation over the phone to make sure this seems like a good match and our schedules align. Please feel free to reach out by phone or email, with email being checked more regularly. I look forward to working with you!
My practice has always been focused on serving the BGLTQ+ Community, especially trans & gender diverse people, and polyamorous people. I tend to see a lot of geeky and neurodivergent people. My work as a therapist is informed by early training in both psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety disorders and depression, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My approach draws from the applications of mindfulness and self-compassion in psychotherapy, as well as feminist approaches such as Relational-Cultural therapy. Ultimately, I believe it is the relationship that heals, as well as learning to be a kind friend to oneself. I believe that good mental health means knowing you have choices and making them consciously (not which choices you make). (Please note if contacting me: it will save time if you include your insurance company and whether HMO or PPO.)
You might be struggling to understand why you fall into the same damaging patterns in your relationships. Or why, no matter how much you want to, you just can't seem to let yourself be vulnerable with the people you love most. Or maybe you're facing questions about your path in life and trying to fit into a predetermined mold. I believe we shouldn't have to force ourselves to blend into one aspect of our identities. We deserve to embrace all parts of ourselves and create our own unique balance from our cultural, gender, emotional identities and more. Attachment theory, trauma informed interventions, and a personal and therapeutic perspective of multicultural identities are some of the things that allow me to support you in better understanding yourself and get answers to your biggest questions about you. All with the goal of feeling most aligned with who you truly are. Life today can fill our heads with so many complexities that we sometimes lack the capacity to figure all this out on our own. The therapeutic space we create can be dedicated to the personal challenges that have had to take a backseat. Those parts of you deserve the time.
We are a team of clinical social workers specializing in yoga/mindfulness, EMDR, and CBT. Our understanding is that in order to truly heal, we must honor our whole-body and mind working together.
